End Of The Line: All Change, All Change!

Back from our traditional Whitsun break, and time to take stock. After a surprisingly small amount of soul-searching I’ve decided to put Change Alley out of its misery. There are other projects that are more deserving of my attention right now.
The Change Alley brand may make a reappearance in a new form in the future, but don’t hold your breath. It’s been an interesting experiment, I’ve learnt a lot about Wordpress, about writing in general and writing for the Internet in particular.
On a practical note, I’ll leave this site dormant but accessible until the domain name expires and the server rental runs out, whichever comes first. If memory serves, you have until early November before the whole thing vanishes in a puff of smoke.
It just remains for me to thank all readers and contributors for their interest, especially Mrs Trellis of North Wales.

Well good luck Pete and merriest wishes. I’ve really enjoyed reading your articles here. You are a talented eco-writer.
Thanks for the kind words EP. May I say that I’ve always found your column to be thought-provoking, entertaining and well-written. Long may you continue.
In my usual perverse way, I’ve pulled the plug just at the time when business is looking up. Just passed 10,000 page views, with recent visits from the BBC and the Guardian. However, I have a degree to finish, an allotment to cultivate and songs to record, so Change Alley has to take a back seat. For the moment.
So glad this site is at an end!
Well, hello Richard. So nice to hear from a representative of Thanet District Council, in fact if you’re the Richard Nicholson then you are the Labour leader of TDC. How sad that you felt it appropriate to come on here and celebrate the demise of a blog that has provided a lot of much-needed information to a lot of people. Even sadder that you weren’t brave enough to make yourself known.
This site is not at an end, I’ve just stopped writing new posts. The existing articles will remain for anyone with a search engine to find, to read and to comment on.
While you’re there… In the absence of a proper Environmental Impact Assessment, I asked TDC to provide all environment-related information on Thanet Earth months ago, and received nothing, not even an acknowledgement. Get your people to chase it up for me, could you?
Thanks Pete, glad to see you’re still around.
Degrees . . . allotments . . . song recordings? Is there no end to your talents?
Nope
